angina after angioplasty

how soon after an angioplasty does angina disappear or at least improve?

It varies. But the vessel where they used the balloon should have no pain in that area for a long time.

If you continue to have angina, then you have many other minor clogs that give you pain from occasional spasms of the artery that cause temporary blockages. Minor pain means a small artery, and you’ll be able to feel it very localized to a part of your heart.

You should have a nitroglycerin spray to use for any that are more than a few seconds. I keep one with almost me all the time.

I get pretty bad angina from fatty foods, so I don’t eat any obvious ones. I had a triple bypass, and two stents, inserted one at a time.

For more improvement, you need a very low fat diet and more gradual exercise. Look up diets of Dr. Dean Ornish or Dr. Richard Flanigan.
