Does anyone know the disadvantage of having an aneurysm left?

I went to my doctor and had chest pains. He did an angiogram and told me that I have an aneurysm in my artery. He said he had to lose more weight than last year. Last year, I lost 32 pounds. He said that I have improved my foot and walk more this year. He said he was not running any marathons, but could return to their regular activities. Now I'm on Plavix, an aspirin Baby day and Nitrostat any chest pain, you may encounter. He did not mention all the precautions. Can anyone help?

I am afraid that your doctor is not sufficiently explain what is wrong or the doctor did not answer this problem correctly. A aneurysm of the descending artery Heart, front is very serious and must be corrected either by stenting or bypass surgery. Losing weight has nothing to do with the aneurysm. Activity not nothing to do with the aneurysm, but an excessive activity may cause an aneurysm to bleed or rupture can be fatal. Clopidogrel and aspirin are an attempt to prevent blood clotting that are not appropriate treatment for an aneurysm coronary artery. Thus, if the doctor did not adequately explain the coronary anatomy or medical are not treated properly. I urges to resolve this one way or another. This is a potentially fatal disease. If I can be of assistance Supplementary Please email me for more information johnerussomd@jhu.edu. I wish him the best of health and God bless.

Is it normal for a dermatologist to prescribe a beta-blocker and an antihistamine at the same time?

My friend has no history hypertension or angina, last week presented a rash, probably related to stress. The drug has been prescribed Loratadine and propranolol, but I do not understand why propranolol. He is allergic to aspirin and penicylin, I fear that this may worsen with an ingredient added to the mix. In addition also prescribed other antihistamines, chlorpheniramine, and thanks for your reply, yes, soothes and helps me to know this

Its almost impossible to guess what would be a treatment plan without knowning all the details. However, these drugs are a common treatment for a cholenergic disease called urticaria. Blood pressure or angina pectoris are not the only reasons why someone might perscribe a beta-blocker. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Cardiovascular diseases and disability benefits

Heart disease is a term used to describe a variety of diseases affecting the heart, and in some cases, the blood vessels. The term heart disease "is often used interchangeably with" cardiovascular diseases "- A term usually refers to conditions that involve a narrowing or blockage of blood vessels that can lead to a crisis cardiac chest pain (angina pectoris), or an accident stroke. other cardiac diseases such as infections and conditions affect the heart muscle, valves or above the rate also consider forms of heart disease.

Heart disease is the number one killer in the world of men and women, even the United States. Responsible for 40 percent of all deaths in the United States, more than all cancers combined (!), The Heart disease is a legitimate concern. Here we will discuss the details of heart disease and how someone with heart disease may benefit social benefits to persons with disabilities to safety (or SSDI).

About Heart Disease

The causes of heart disease vary depending on type of heart disease. While heart disease may relate to many types of heart problems or blood vessels, the term is often used to mean damage to vessels of the heart or blood by atherosclerosis, a buildup of fatty plaques in arteries, blood vessels that carry oxygen and nutrients from the heart to the rest of your body.

Health arteries are flexible and strong. Over time, however, too much pressure in the arteries can cause excessive wear and make the walls thick and stiff, limiting blood flow to organs and tissues. This process is called atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries. Atherosclerosis is the most common form of this disorder. Atherosclerosis is the most common cause of cardiovascular disease and is caused by a variety of factors, including a diet low health, lack of exercise, overweight and smoking. All these factors major risk for developing atherosclerosis and, in turn, cardiovascular disease.

Cardiovascular disease is still undiagnosed until the condition worsens to the point of a heart attack, chest pain (angina pectoris), stroke, heart failure or sudden death. It is important cardiovascular symptoms and discuss your concerns with your doctor. Some of these symptoms are the text following:

"The chest pain (angina pectoris)
Difficulty breathing-
"The pain, numbness, weakness or cold in the legs or arms, if blood vessels in the parts of your body shake

Cardiovascular disease can sometimes be detected early with visits to the doctor regularly.

Heart disease treatments vary. Most treatments of cardiovascular disease focus on the arteries open narrowed to cause symptoms. Depending on the severity of blockages, treatment may include lifestyle changes, medications and / or surgery.

Disability benefits Social Security

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is a program Federal to pay cash benefits to qualified candidates who have worked and paid enough of their social security contributions. Based scientific evidence, work history, education and history, the Social Security Administration determines if applicants qualify to benefits and the amount of each applicant may receive.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) provides specific criteria to qualify Jobseekers turn. Regarding heart disease in particular, the medical evidence must be consistent with the classification of sub-Saharan Africa in the following criteria: coronary disease, demonstrated by angiography (obtained from the independent evaluation of security social disability) or other appropriate medically acceptable images in the absence of a test of time as a litmus test to stress or a timely normal induced by the drug, an MC, preferably one with experience in caring for patients with diseases cardiovascular, concluded that the results of the exercise tolerance test presents a significant risk to the individual, with 1 and 2:

1. with angiographic evidence of:
a. 50 percent or more narrowing of the left main coronary artery nonbypassed, or
b. 70 percent or more narrowing of the coronary arteries nonbypassed another, or
C. 50 percent or more narrowing involving a (more than 1 cm) segment nonbypassed a coronary artery, or
d. 50 percent or more reduction of at least two coronary arteries or nonbypassed
e. 70 percent or more narrowing a vessel bypass and

2. Lead to serious limitations in the ability to independently initiate, maintain or support activities of daily living.

These criteria are discussed in more detail by the Social Security Administration (SSA). However, keep in mind symptoms of heart disease who meet the criteria for receiving benefits may develop after the disease process and / or drugs prescribed and used, or waste from the effects of surgery to treat the disease.

The medical evidence supporting the argument that he or she can meet these criteria and are therefore eligible for disability benefits, is crucial for a successful outcome. Doctors are considered experts in their fields of practice, and its diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the condition of an individual are essential to determine if a person suffers from heart disease is eligible for social security benefits persons with disabilities.

How long will you live if you're 84 and angina pectoris? A forecast please honest, it's my mother.?

Angina is a symptom not a disease. It simply means that the pain associated with heart disease. Having angina does not indicate amount of heart disease is the only presence. Many people who have control of their angina heart disease with medications while others have surgery or a procedure called cardiac catheterization and balloon angioplasty to relieve their chest. I think we need more information. For example, what is the degree of heart disease. Have you had a heart attack? "She suffers from what is called congestive heart failure. Have you had any surgeries and procedures in your heart? Abstract: Angina chest by itself does not indicate how long a person will live or severity of their condition.

What are the symptoms of lupus? doc think you may have?

I went to the doctor for chest pains really bad, which were to happen again in 5-6 years. he thinks that everything goes well, costochondrias, angina pectoris, or lupus. It is the second ECG performed on me and still showed nothing wrong with my heart. he gave me some anti-inflammatories and said I should feel relief after taking them, but has not contributed as much as the doc said it should. I still feel the same. so that makes me think it could be disseminated. How does the breast well? affect the heart or other organs? and why wouldnt they appear in ECG? are there other tests for lupus? I see why you think you might be lupus. which causes inflammation of body organs, and that is what I think since I'm only 19, which would make it strange for me to have coronary artery disease. idk. Please give me information about it, either:) Thanks

Is the doctor. What type of lupus that if you think you have? I will assume from reading your message is suspected of SLE. As you know many Lupus attacks different parts of the body, more or less self-attacks. You can have pain and chronic fatigue, low fever, loss of hair, weakness, muscle joint pain, just like crepe. You can get sores in the mouth and sores (ulcers) The list can go on and on, because of the way disease affects different parts of the body, then you have the domino affect. The greatest gift is the butterfly rash on the face, usually appears on the nose and checks. Usually, the doctor will do a lot of blood tests that include an antibody (ANA) and antinuclear antibodies against aa their own DNA. Lupus is a disease that affects women three times more than men and is more common among white women while black. Your doctor should be consulted a rheumatologist for a proper assessment is made. Any person of any age can have heart disease, rather than a problem of age you become. Lupus does not appear in an electrocardiogram stress test or anything else that has to do with the heart. It can detect if the disease has invaded these areas or if someone might have a problem that needs further evaluation. Lupus is a difficult disease, and is one that can express many different constraints for the person who has it, and those around them. I would not have lupus. Also just for a little information – people with any type of autoimmune disease must avoid spicy foods, and salt and sulfuric acid drugs or foods containing sulfa. Anything that might cause an epidemic, including the stress it !!!!!! will be fine, just give the medication enough time to calm areas in the sternum and coasts. I hope that helped you.

Acid Reflux And Antacid Drugs – The Real Truth May Kill You

Doctors and Pharmaceutical giants know that their drugs and antacids don’t cure angina or acid reflux. They’ve known for ages that their drugs simply suppress the condition and continue the horrible cycle of angina, acid reflux, and drugs. If you have fallen prey to this medical cycle, for sure you are headed toward serious malnutrition. The inability to enable for your body the nutrients it wishes will result in the diseases that you’ll see in middle to older-aged adults.

Because your mouth and stomach are the first step in getting nutrients into your body, you don’t want to get this step incorrect. If you are taking Prevacid, Prilosec, Aciphex, Protonix, Nexium, or even antacid, its time you re-assessed the use of these drugs.

Fact1 : Your stomach is designed to have a pH of 3.0 or less, more acidic

Fact three : Taking angina or reflux drugs or antacids raises and keeps your stomach pH above 3.0 and higher.

- The beef you eat is broken down into amino acids that you absorb later

- Vitamins are created from the food you eat

- Vitamins are separated out from the food you eat

- Minerals are kept in solution for later absorption

Stomach digested food moves into the duodenum at the correct pH level and triggers digestive juices from the pancreas and gallbladder.

Bacteria overgrowth is forestalled and eliminates their interference with the assimilation of vitamin B-12

When your tummy’s pH grows higher than 3.0, your body secretes more acid to keep its pH below 3.0. Instead it’s creating chemical baths that are not serviceable by your body. What it currently now secretes is influencing the usage of subsequent processes in the duodenum and/or colon.

The untimeley happenstance of a stomach with a high pH over a long period of time results in many sick days away from work that are not sole responsible to an incompetent stomach.

If your problem has turned into GERD then you could have to see a doctor or an alternative medical source to get over this kind of health concern.

Risk Factors of Obesity

In a world where media and societal mores hold beauty and fitness to high standards, an overweight person can feel depressed, left out, and suffer low self-worth. Television and fashion magazines bombard us with pictures of reed-thin models and actresses and athletes with washboard abs, glamorizing certain impossible ideals to a point that a normal person is destined to feel inadequate. One can imagine how an overweight or morbidly obese person must feel to be exposed to this environment.

Aside from emotional factors that come into play, obesity brings with it various health risks that must be addressed first.

Low Mortality Rate

The Center for Disease Control attributes 300,000 deaths in the US annually to obesity-related illnesses. People with a BMI of 30 or above suffer a 50-100% increased risk of premature death from illness as opposed to people at normal weight levels.

Arthritis

As a person gains weight, the pressure in the body to carry the extra load increases. As a result, overweight people suffer an increased risk of pain in the joints, in particular osteoarthritis – which affects the knees, hips and back.

Heart Disease

As high blood pressure is more common among overweight people than people at normal weight levels, so increases the risk for heart disease. Instances of high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol as found in obese patient can increase the chances for heart attack, angina, and congestive heart failure.

Deep Vein Thrombosis

Deep Vein Thrombosis, or DVT, is characterized by a clot in the leg veins that forms after a prolonged period of inactivity. While DVT is common among people confined to wheelchairs and business travelers who sit for long commercial flights, DVT can present a problem for the obese. Immobility plays a large factor.

Stroke

Obesity is often associated with inactivity, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, the same conditions which may cause blood clots to form in the arteries. These clots in turn slow blood flow to the heart and cause strokes.

Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a condition where a person will stop breathing while asleep. As excess fat crowding air passageways leads to this condition, obese patients often suffer sleep apnea. Lack of blood flow to the body during sleep can contribute to drowsiness during the day, headaches, and a host of other problems.

Type 2 Diabetes

Commonly known as adult onset diabetes, Type-II diabetes is thought to be caused by the body’s gradual inability to use insulin. Prolonged inactivity, obesity, and age are common factors in the increasing risk of onset diabetes. As a person gains an inordinate amount of weight, blood sugar levels can fluctuate out of control and lead to serious imbalances.

Reduce the risks associated with obesity

It’s as simple as this: the more excess weight you lose, the better your risks of serious illness will decrease. An exceptional loss of weight can be the difference between having to have surgery for arthritis or dealing with minor physical therapy. First, though, you have to lose the weight. Consult with a physician with regards to the weight loss program that is right for you, and don’t feel frustrated about the length of time it takes to be well. Losing weight doesn’t happen overnight, and with steady determination you will see results.

Different types of Cholesterol

Cholesterol is a blood fat needed by the body in moderate amounts. However, high cholesterol levels can lead to atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease (CAD). Angina is chest pain caused by the restriction of blood flow to the heart (cardiac ischemia). Nitrates may be used to relieve angina.

Most people will have cholesterol blood tests regularly, including triglycerides, LDL and total cholesterol. Methods for increasing good cholesterol or lowering cholesterol levels may include cholesterol reducing drugs, such as statins, fibrates, niacin (nicotinic acid) and bile acid resins. However, these drugs do not reverse calcification. A heart attack occurs when the coronary arteries become blocked. Cholesterol has many types. The two big components are called LDL (low-density lipoprotein) and HDL (high-density lipoprotein). And simplistically, we talk about the LDL being the bad cholesterol and the HDL being the good cholesterol.

Some of the LDL cholesterol, i.e., the bad cholesterol, is worse than others. And it tends to be the small particle size that is very dense. You can think of the cholesterol particles as marbles, maybe, the small dense ones, and the larger, lighter ones might be ping-pong balls. And so the small marble ones are more dangerous.

On the other side, HDL the good cholesterol, posseses some components that are better than the others. So cholesterol is quite a complicated subject, and we’re developing more and more therapies that aim not just at the total cholesterol, but in altering the good and the bad.

Angina Fatigue

Can the heart condition angina cause fatigue after eating a meal?

Please state your source as well if you could.

I have angina and have never heard of An attack after a meal. Angina is lack of oxygen to the heart,This itself can cause fatigue and one heck of a headache. Nitroglycerin dialates blood vessels to allow more oxygen in to the heart therefore reliveing the pain from angina. I would think something else triggered the attack ie: eating fast and not breathing correctly, stress etc. Check with Dr to be sure

Angina Attacks

Is blood pressure affected by angina attacks?

The response is variable. In usual anginal attacks, blood pressure goes up due to sympathetic overactivity and adrenaline release in response to pain.

But rarely a large portion of the heart can become ischemic (reduced blood supply) so that pumping force of the heart can be reduced. In such an instance, blood pressure will come down.

Height and the Heart

There are many genetic factors that have been linked to the risk of heart disease.  Now, there is another factor to add to the list: height.  A new study finds that people who are short have a 50 percent higher risk of heart disease compared to taller people.

Researchers reviewed more than 50 previous studies that examined the link between height and heart problems in more than 3 million men and women.  Short people were defined as those who measures under 5 feet 3 inches in height.  Tall people were defined as those who measured at least 5 feet 9 inches in height.

The study found that the shortest individuals in a given country’s population were one and one half times more likely to suffer from heart problems or to die from heart disease than the tallest individuals in the population.  Each person’s height was considered in the context of population only.

Previous studies have found a link between height and heart problems such as angina, heart attack, and angioplasties.  However, researchers stress the fact that other risk factors, including smoking, weight, and blood pressure, remain more important than the height factor.

Researchers offer several possible explanations for these findings.  One possibility for why shorter people are more likely to suffer from heart problems might be that short people are undernourished in general, which makes them more vulnerable to health problems.  Short individuals are also more likely to be poor, which can make healthcare unaffordable.  Other experts suggest a biological link; that is, a hormone imbalance in shorter people could affect the heart.  Researchers also theorize that the smaller arteries found in shorter people could become clogged more easily, leading to an increased incidence of high blood pressure and heart disease.

This comprehensive review serves as a reminder that people with certain risk factors, including height, should take extra care with their heart health.

patients with coronary artery disease often develop angina during periods of increased heart rate?

what is the reason

The coronary artery is the artery that feeds your heart in blood. Your heart is a muscle just like any other, and it needs blood so it can contract effectively.

Angina is a pain you feel in your chest when your heart muscle is not receiving enough blood to function properly.

Increased heart rate, from exercise or stress or other, means that your heart has to work harder. So if the coronary artery is partially blocked, then your myocardia, the heart muscle, doesn’t get enough blood, toxins build up in the tissue and you get angina. Kinda like a motor will not run well when you rev it if the gas line is blocked.

Angina Age

Does anyone know why eating an indian meal makes my father experience an angina attack?

My father is 60 years of age and has had a triple heart bypass about 5 years ago. The symptoms of angina disapeared for a while after his operation but unfortunately returned. He has angina attacks when very emotional and if subjected to cold conditions. More recently tho, eating a meal such as his favourite chicken tikka massalla have also brought these attacks on. Does anyone know why this is? All feedback would be welcome. Thank you

I can’t see why curry specifically should cause it. However any large meal made up of items which take time to digest can bring on angina. This is because blood is diverted away from the heart to meet the increasing needs of the bowel to digest food. This is in the same way as blood is diverted to the muscles when we exercises. Both leave the heart short of blood supply and oxygen if it is already compromised by coronary artery disease.

It could also be as suggested by one of the other answers, that some of the discomfort might be due to acid reflux. Sometimes the symptoms caused by this may be indistinguishable from angina.

The Awkward Truth About Adhd Psychostimulants Doctors Don’t Want You to Know

The drug industry has done a fantastic job in marketing ADHD! According to a New York Times report they have marketed ADHD so well to parents, teachers, doctors and pediatricians that over 9 million prescriptions for their psychostimulant drugs have been written this last year. Not bad in a recession. Side effects of Ritalin( one of the first psychostimulant drugs) have been the subject of much controversy. Now 4.4% of the population suffers from ADHD and it has become almost fashionable – partly due to a relentless advertising campaign for these drugs.

Ritalin is basically a substance called methylphenidate. That can improve mood, attention span and even help college students to study all night before an important exam. The effect can last a short time and then another dose has to be given- otherwise there will be a ‘crash’ when depression and drowsiness will set in. Not surprising that they are referred to as ‘uppers’. Only problem is that the patient is addicted and needs ever increasing doses so drug addiction is another spectre for ADHD children who may have been on these drugs for a number of years. Patients have to be monitored if Ritalin has been given for a number of years – another headache for parents

Other side effects of Ritalin are :- stunted growth, insomnia, skin rashes, anorexia, some irregular heart beating, angina, blood pressure problems. The list goes on and perhaps the most frightening thing of all is that not only is the list of Ritalin side effects rather scary but also we do NOT know the long term physical and psychological effects of this drug. Also we do not know how safe Ritalin is in the long term either so that is disturbing. There is a risk of suicide if patients stop taking Ritalin suddenly and there are all sorts of problems associated with withdrawing Ritalin.

Parents with ADHD children are now becoming wise to the fact that these psychostimulants cause more problems than they solve and also that they do not want to put their children at risk. They also refuse to be brainwashed by the drug industry and are now seeking out information themselves. ADHD blogs and forums are great places to find information and finally a surge in ADHD natural cures and remedies is evident. Join the thousands of parents who want a safer, less risky ADHD natural cure which also costs a lot less. You may have questions about how effective these natural ADHD cures are and if they are a really valid alternative. Given the side effects of Ritalin, I would certainly say they are. The link below will provide all the answers.

are mitral regurgitation and mitral stenosis the same thing?

I have just been told i have angina and my doctor has given me a spray to use during an attack. It says on the leaflet not to use if you have mitral stenosis disease, i have mitral regurgitation. I am not sure if i should call my doctor again to double check that i can take it.

No they are not exactly the same. “Mitral regurg” is the name given to blood flow that leaks and flows in the reverse direction through the mitral valve inside the heart. When the valve closes properly, there should be little or no reverse flow. During a colour doppler ultrasound exam, blood flow in the heart is represented as blue and red depending on the direction of blood flow. Mitral regurg will show as a burst of reverse colour. Mitral stenosis is a blockage at the valve that prevents it from closing properly. Mitral stenosis could cause mitral regurg. I would ask your doctor if the nitro spray is a concern. My guess is, it is not a concern because the nitro spray is used to dialate the arteries in the body, ( especially the coronaries ) to allow good blood flow to the heart muscle.
